Château de la Clapière Cru Classé
Hyères les Palmiers
rosé 2011
GRAPE VARIETIES: 40% Grenache, 40% Cinsault, 20% Syrah
VINTAGE: 2011
TERROIR: 130 acres including 79 acres of Cru Classé land, in the
foothills of the shaley Maures mountains, at the crossroads
of the fertile Sauvebonne and Borrels valleys where the
vines blossom amidst citrus fruits and palm trees in a
micro-climate.
VINIFICATION:
Harvested during the beginning of September with cold maceration
including the skins. Gentle pneumatic pressing and regularised
alcoholic fermentation at 16°c. in air-conditioned cellar to be able to
preserve the maximum of aromas and the quality of each variety.
HISTORY:
In 1931 Château de la Clapière came into the Fabre family which M. et
Mme. Constant managed for many, many years. On M. Léonce
Constant’s death in 1954, his wife Victoria, took over the management
of Château de la Clapière. Transformed, enlarged and modernised it
once again became as notorious as in its past and received the
sanction of Cru Classé. The domain is, presently, still managed by the
Fabre family (the great grand children).
TASTING:
A powerful and very aromatic nose. In the mouth the fat dominates with
a beautiful note of freshness and finishes with a touch of acidity.
This pleasant fruity rosé can be well enjoyed during a long meal.
To be tasted at 12/13 °C.
PRESENTATION:
The wine is presented in our special Marie-Christine bottle created out
of Emile Gallé frosted glass.
