While Verdicchio di Castelli di Jesi may be more well-known, Verdicchio from Matelica, once a prehistoric marine basin nestled in a Pre-Apennine valley, may be more coveted by lovers of Italian wine. Enzo Mecella is committed to preserving the distinctive characteristics of this particularly minerally Verdicchio. The name “Pagliano” refers to the area on the the outskirts of Matelica where the vineyards are located.
